About Cogent Cogent is building the AI task force for cybersecurity. Cybersecurity is fundamentally broken in the age of AI. Attackers are moving more quickly than ever before, and the number of threats has outpaced human capacity. The next era of defense must be autonomous, not manual, and Cogent is leading that transformation. We are building an autonomous vulnerability management platform that autonomously analyzes context, prioritizes vulnerabilities, determines the best remediation plan, and auto‑remediates. We work with Fortune 500 companies and are backed by Greylock. Our team comes from the world’s leading AI and cybersecurity organizations including DeepMind, Abnormal Security, Coinbase, Stripe, and Tesla. We’re growing incredibly quickly and need a stellar founding recruiter to help us scale the team. This is a rare opportunity to join a tight‑knit, elite team at the frontier of AI and cybersecurity, at a moment when customer demand and momentum are accelerating rapidly. About The Role As our Founding Recruiter, you’ll own the end‑to‑end recruiting function: sourcing, recruiting, coordinating, and closing. You’ll help shape how we hire, onboard, and build our culture. If you’re interested in expanding into People Operations / HR functions down the line, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into that. But first and foremost: we need someone who can roll up their sleeves and “do it all”. The primary focus will be on technical roles, with flexibility into GTM roles as well. This role is ideal for recruiters who thrive in high‑ownership environments, love finding and closing exceptional talent, and want to see the tangible impact of the teams they build. What You’ll Do Partner with company leaders and Co‑Founders to build our recruiting function Think creatively about how to source, engage, and convert top talent Create steady, high‑quality pipelines through outbound sourcing, referrals, and proactive talent mapping Develop, track, and improve metrics (e.g., time‑to‑hire, source effectiveness, candidate quality, funnel conversion) Build scalable recruiting systems and processes About You 4+ years of recruiting experience, ideally with deep technical recruiting exposure. You’ve recruited in fast‑paced, competitive environments (later‑stage startups or high‑bar tech companies). You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and a fast‑paced environment. You’re a strong communicator who is good at understanding what candidates are looking for and adjusting your strategy on the go. Bonus Points You bring deep knowledge of the AI talent landscape and a network of top‑tier candidates. You’re excited about AI and cybersecurity, and want to help build a category‑defining team. You’re not only interested in hiring for an AI‑native team, you are interested in leaning into creating an AI‑native hiring process. You have interest in, or existing experience around People Ops/HR.
