Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Manager's Assistant to provide pharmaceutical support on a statewide basis to clients and healthcare personnel within the County Health Departments (CHDs).
The successful candidate will serve as the primary assistant to the Pharmacy Manager in all operations, including selecting Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians as requested by the Department.
In collaboration with the Department, the selected candidate will provide supervisory duties such as developing performance plans and appraisals, planning and assigning duties for Pharmacy Technicians, and performing corrective action related to Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician's performance.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to verify the accuracy of data entry of prescriptions and any drug interactions conducted by the Pharmacy Technician(s).
Responsibilities
- Filling and dispensing medications for the Department's BPHP Prescription Program
- Ordering prescription requests from CHDs and Department of Corrections
- Ensuring pharmaceutical supplies are stored appropriately based on product stability and manufacturer recommendations
- Reviewing client medical profiles for possible medication and food interactions
- Informing clients of drug interactions or allergies and providing relevant documentation
- Attending and participating in Quality Improvement Committee meetings
Requirements
- Experience working in a pharmacy setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and regulations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field
- Pharmacy license in good standing
