Job Summary:As a Production Technician III - Control Panel Assembly in Caterpillar's Power Generation team in Seguin, Texas, you will play a critical role in assembling, testing, and troubleshooting advanced electrical control systems for our industry-leading power generation products. Join us to advance your skills and be part of a team powering the world with innovative products.What you will do:Align and secure components as directed by work instructionAlign and install gaskets, seals, bearings, hoses, covers, and visual componentsEnsure that parts and materials used in the assembly process are free from quality defectsAssist other departments with problem solving or improvement ideas related to assemblyVerify correct alignment of engine components using engine schematics and part printsInspect parts and materials to ensure they are free from quality defectsPerform audits and carry out quality inspections to correct known defectsPerform torque audits, leak tests, and visual inspection on all enginesFollow standard operating procedures and area specific work instructionsMaintain and improve the integrity and reliability of process controls within the production process to ensure customer protectionPerform Plan/Method Audits of the production processes to ensure critical to customer actions are occurring correctlyLead and support Caterpillar Production System continuous improvement activitiesProvide support to quality issues identified on the production line as neededEscalate issues and the necessary resources to root cause and develop counter measures.Provide information to supervisors and managers about processes within assigned areaCreate quality alerts per established guidelines to maintain operator awarenessExecute special studies as directed by Section Managers to understand line performanceMonitor quality performance of the line (reject activity, holds, etc.) and react to issues accordinglyAll other duties as assignedWhat you will have:Ability to work well with othersAttention to detailStrong problem solving and analytical skills (8D, Root cause analysis, etc.)Knowledgeable with facility product and manufacturing processInspection/Process auditing experienceBasic tooling knowledgeEngineering blueprint reading/interpretation experienceIntermediate to Advanced proficiency using Microsoft OfficeShift and/or value stream flexibilityWhat would make you a top candidate: Experience utilizing PLEX.12-24 months Manufacturing/Assembly experience or equivalent educationPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of timeAbility to perform repetitive operationsAbility to lift up to 35 lbs.We are committed to ensuring a supportive and accommodating work environment for all employees.
