Summary The Distribution Mechanic III is responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment, piping systems, valves, and machinery at our power plant located in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a full‑time, hourly, union position and reports to the Distribution Manager. The compensation for this position is $34.16 per hour plus a 10% bonus target. Responsibilities Maintain safe working conditions in accordance with established Company policies Identify, report and/or correct unsafe work environments Operate all hand/power tools in a competent manner Install, repair, replace, and troubleshoot piping systems, valves, steam traps, pumps Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled Exercise caution in the use and maintenance of all company equipment Respond to emergency situations immediately and work quickly to correct the problem(s). Participate in training to continue education and skills in craft Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing Perform other duties as assigned by Distribution Manager Participate in training to further welding skills, as needed by the department Takes rotating, on‑call (beeper) on weekends, back shifts, and holidays Must be able to work overtime as required Basic Qualifications HS Diploma or GED Minimum one year experience in an industrial maintenance setting Preferred Qualifications Ability to work with minimum supervision Ability to perform basic computer operations and use email Other Qualifications Valid MD 4th or 5th Grade Stationary Engineers License Minimum one year Pipefitting experience Minimum one year Welding experience Minimum one year Rigging certification Physical Requirements Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by Company’s vehicle insurance carrier. Must have and maintain a driving record meeting the standards of the company. Must complete pre‑employment screenings including a company physical exam in addition to drug testing. Ability to lift and maneuver up to and including 50 pounds. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to climb and tolerate heights up to 100 feet. Must be able to walk, stand, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach. Ability to tolerate heat in an industrial production plant environment.
