Software Engineering Manager with Security Clearance We are seeking an ambitious software engineering professional to join our leadership team. The successful candidate will coach, support, train, and motivate team members to ensure a high level of performance. This position includes 75% technical work and 25% managerial duties. Responsibilities Promote a productive, engaging, and rewarding work environment. Define team roles and responsibilities, ensuring clear expectations. Establish performance standards, evaluate performance, and compensate exceptional work. Support engineers in meeting commitments. Interview, select, and onboard top talent. Provide career advice, guidance, and support growth development plans. Secure next assignment opportunities for your team. Lead and support technical reviews and guidance as needed. Enforce the software development process. Mentor team members and ensure they have adequate resources. Serve as a channel for company communications. Administer company policies and practices. Collaborate with peers and direct management on resource planning and hiring activities. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 10 years of software development experience. 3–5 years of leadership experience in a technical environment. Experience supporting military or defense programs. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Excellent critical thinking, problem‑solving, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. Proven experience with the software development lifecycle and building cross‑functional relationships. Experience using earned‑value management systems to manage a team’s cost and schedule performance. Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation period of up to five years. U.S. citizenship is required by government contract requirements. Preferred Skills Experience in an Agile/SAFe leadership role (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Release Train Engineer, etc.). Strategic, forward‑thinking mindset with a can‑do attitude. High desire to provide customer satisfaction. 5+ years of leadership experience; 15+ years of software development experience. Proven ability to recruit top talent in security, engineering, or related fields. Security Responsibilities Comply with all company security and data protection policies and procedures. Maintain proper marking and handling of all classified information. Disclose information only to those with a need‑to‑know. Ensure all government and proprietary data is accessed and stored on company‑provided resources. Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. Physical Demands The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job. Salary Range $117,900 – $147,400 per year (actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and market).
