The Revit Drafter's responsibilities include drafting Storage Structures' Permit Set, Approval Set, and/or Field Use Drawings while ensuring that the Revit drawings meet all technical specifications, conforms to materials and dimension specified within the architectural drawings, external engineer of record drawings, and/or from order clarity provided by Pre-Construction Project Manager, as applicable, and are in compliance with company standards. The Drafter will also coordinate with Drafting Checkers to identify technical issues, suggest solutions, and correct Redline comments. The Drafter will ensure that each drawing or draft provides a complete list of specifications to prevent problems during construction.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Participate in Job kick-off meeting with Squad Leader and Drafting Checker
  • Participate in Job hand-off meetings with Drafting Checker and coordinate all project notes and documents with the Drafting Checker
  • Communicate progress and provide updates to the Drafting Checker
  • Receive and correct redline drawings received from Drafting Checker
  • Prepare Field Use Revit Drawings (if assigned)
    • Insert all required field use details as required by company policy
    • Receive and clear Redlines from Drafting Checker
  • Update Drawings for Redlines/Clarifications during the procurement and construction phase
  • Prepare Revit drawing/detail from Hand Sketches when needed
  • Other Assistance
    • Assist Vice President of Engineering and Drafting or Drafting Manager in ad hoc requirements as necessary to advance the overall objectives of the company and Drafting Department.
Key Measures of success include:
  • Consistent completion of responsibilities
  • High repeat order rate / High net promoter score
  • Consistent understanding of job status and customer due dates
  • Proactive requesting and follow up on outstanding inquiries (Same Day send out; 48 hours check back)
  • 98% accuracy on drawings
  • 98% delivery of shop drawings by planned operation date

Specific tasks include:

Actively participate in daily training / watch recordings if you miss. Ask questions if you don't understand
  • Focus on active follow-up and follow-through (Same Day send out; 48 hours check back)
  • Keep track of what information others owe you and follow up actively until you get it
REQUIREMENTS
  • EDUCATION AND TRAINING
    • Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree (or in the process of working towards either one)
    • Experience may be accepted in lieu of education or formal certifications.
  • EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum of (1) years of experience as a Drafter and/or Checker
      • Experience in REVIT is ideal
  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
    • Knowledge of heavy structural and light gauge steel building designs, means, and methods.
    • Excellent command drawing review tools and technics.
    • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
    • Ability to investigate problems or potential problems to avoid reoccurrence.
    • Proficient in Revit, BlueBeam, Microsoft Dynamics, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Ability to communicate at numerous levels internal and external to the company.
    • Excellence in oral and written communication in English.

    • Able to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
    • Able to stand, walk, sit, and type 8 - 10 hours per day.
