Quality Engineer

QUALITY ENGINEER

Assist in maintaining ISO 9001 QMS records, system, and document control.
Perform/coordinate periodic ISO department audits
Serve as ISO coordinator for ISO recertification and surveillance audits
Oversee Quality Alert system for internal Quality issues
Establish and maintain baseline criteria for in-process Quality (i.e. cosmetics, etc.)
Partner with R&D to write Quality Plans for new products
Ensure compliance and training to new Quality Plans
Perform/manage in-process audits for assembly/manufacturing.
Issue in-process audit reports and drive corrective action/continuous improvement
Issue and investigate Quality Alerts for nonconformances
Create and manage key process indicators (KPIs) for Quality improvement.
Create work instructions as needed.
Set up and interpret process capability studies, statistical process control charts, and pareto analysis of in-process and final inspection results.
Facilitate metrics for manufacturing departments with department supervisors.
Prepare and carry out scrap reduction evaluations.
Train or assist new or inexperienced employees in gage techniques as required.
Perform other duties as assigned or as dictated by position responsibilities.

Qualifications


Familiarity with GD&T, blueprint reading, and dimensional inspections.
Practical knowledge of metrology and CMM use/programming highly desired.
Degree in quality, industrial, or mechanical engineering preferred.
2+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
