Job Title: Estimator

Job Summary: The Estimator provides professional-level estimating support in a dynamic environment. This role involves delivering accurate, organized, and responsive cost estimates related to materials, labor, and time to meet the needs of internal and external customers.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Cost Estimation: Calculate labor, material, and time requirements for proposals, blueprints, engineering drawings, and other specifications in a job shop environment.
  • Production Time & Man-Hours: Estimate production time and man-hours required to complete work according to customer scope and industry standards.
  • Internal Cost Estimates: Develop cost estimates for materials and work performed internally.
  • Cost Data Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date production labor rates and material cost data essential for quoting.
  • Supplier Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Blueprint & Spec Interpretation: Interpret customer drawings and specifications from various industries to incorporate into detailed quotes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience in a job shop fabrication environment with a focus on fabrication/welding and/or machining. A combination of education and work experience will be considered.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills for building and developing internal and external customer relationships.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic relevant computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Previous work experience as a CNC Machinist and/or Welder/Fitter in a medium to heavy fabrication environment
