How you will create an impact
- Lead a claims team to proactively handle a portfolio of management liability claims, formulating strategies to effectively drive claims to optimal resolution.
- Manage a claims team primarily handling Employment Practices Liability and Directors & Officers Liability claims with some Fiduciary claims for public, private and not-for-profit entities.
- Train and develop claims adjusters in all areas of claims handling, including early investigations, coverage, litigation management, evaluation, reserving and negotiation.
- Assure compliance with Best Practices and departmental policies and procedures.
- Keep abreast of litigation trends and regulatory updates affecting professional liability.
- Make presentations to senior management on high severity or complex matters and trends.
- Analyze claims trends and statistics to assist the business in proactively managing risks and exposures.
- Work closely with Underwriting counterparts in risk analysis and account meetings.
What you will need to succeed
- 10+ years of insurance claims experience.
- Management experience preferred.
- Strong coverage acumen.
- Strong organization and time management skills with an ability to prioritize and meet all deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
- Ability to lead a claims team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively manage team assigned caseloads.
- Ability to effectively formulate resolution strategies.
- A successful candidate will be a team player who can proactively identify trends and risks to assist management and underwriting in evaluating accounts and developing policy language.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
