To provide Intensivist services at Piedmont Macon Hospital(s).

Intensivist Key Responsibilities:

Provides care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.

Participates in and drives ICU multidisciplinary rounds.

Evaluates patients who may require ICU care when called from the Emergency Department or other inpatient units.

Performs requested consultations for critical care emergencies in other units (such as the ER, other ICUs, PACU and acute care areas).

Leads emergency responses such as Medical Codes, Rapid Responses and Sepsis Code Teams.

Supervises and teaches the medicine house staff (when applicable) who staff the ICU, critical care consultations and emergency response teams.

Supervises advance practice providers (when applicable)

Assumes responsibility for own professional growth by participating in continuing education activities and/or professional organizations; attends required meetings and in-services, and participates in committees.

Minimum Education Required/Licensure/Certification:

  • Medical degree from an accredited university
  • Fellowship trained in Critical Care Medicine
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Critical Care Medicine
  • Georgia Medical License

Position Qualifications:
