Glaucoma Trained Ophthalmologist

The Department of Ophthalmology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist currently employs 23 faculty in a collaborative and congenial environment. The glaucoma division includes three glaucoma specialists and one faculty member with pediatric and pediatric glaucoma training. We have experienced steady growth in clinical and surgical volume that will support the addition of a full-time surgical glaucoma specialist to our team. We interact with a large number of Wake Forest University medical students both through the general surgery clerkship and the 4-week elective in ophthalmology. Our faculty have ample opportunity to participate in resident and medical student education, and clinical research and industry-funded clinical trials. Our department also has a strong commitment to service. Members of our faculty, residents, and medical students participate in two international trips to Honduras each year, serve uninsured patients in a local free clinic, and conduct annual vision and eye health screening in the community.
