Howard University Hospital seeks to hire a Recruitment Coordinator in our Human Resources Department who will embrace our rich and historic tradition of excellence. If you want to make a difference in someone’s life every day, consider a position with a team of professionals who are doing just that, making a difference.ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for coordinating the recruitment workflow with other stakeholders (i.e. talent acquisition specialists, hiring managers and HR management). Also assists with various employment functions as needed.Assist with the coordination of recruitment activities. Oversees and manages new employee onboarding process.Assist with recruitment activities such as phone screens and interviews.Prepare new hire paperwork such as personnel action form, offer letters, onboarding documents, etc.Initiate new hire onboarding for pre-employment physicals, background checks, etc. Ensures compliance with employment law and policies when conducting background checks for hiring.Review applications and resumes for the selection of qualified applicants.Assist with the development and implementation of employment programs, plans, policies, and procedures for recruitment, testing, selection and job placement.With approval from the Director, extend and negotiate job offers to all selected candidates.Participate in career fairs and other activities to attract qualified candidates.Competencies / QualificationsUnderstanding of HR/Staffing practices such as on-boarding, off-boarding, screening, talent management, and recruiting.Working knowledge of current HR practices and employment laws and regulationsAbility to problem solve and use independent judgementAbility to interpret policies and procedures and apply it to everyday practiceAbility to work individually and as part of a teamAbility to complete multiple tasks in a timely mannerProficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and with an applicant tracking systemExcellent oral and written communication skills; great interpersonal skillsHighly proficient organizational skills; attention to detailMinimum RequirementsUnderstanding of HR/Staffing practices such as on-boarding, off-boarding, screening, talent management, and recruiting.Working knowledge of current HR practices and employment laws and regulationsAbility to problem solve and use independent judgementAbility to interpret policies and procedures and apply it to everyday practiceAbility to work individually and as part of a teamAbility to complete multiple tasks in a timely mannerProficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and with an applicant tracking systemExcellent oral and written communication skills; great interpersonal skillsHighly proficient organizational skills; attention to detailBenefitsWork life balanceRecognition and rewards for professional expertiseCompetitive, comprehensive benefit plans offered (including health, disability, vacation and sick leave and 403B retirement plan)COVID-19 Vaccination: Howard University Hospital requires all external applicants to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before commencing employment.
