Base Pay Range $145,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr Aduro Advisors is looking for bright and talented individuals to join our team working to support top-tier clients in the Venture Capital & Private Equity space. Senior Controllers play a key leadership role of overseeing a growing team. A Senior Controller leads their team in the areas of managing client relationships, executing on our mission of practical technical excellence, and overseeing the overall growth and development of their team. Team Leadership A Senior Controller leads a team of 2–3 Controllers with their own set of dedicated clients with the goal of delivering on the high quality of service and technical work Aduro is known for. In-depth knowledge and industry experience will enable you to best support your team and our clients. This is not a single focus role; Senior Controllers balance the needs of our clients with the needs of their team and provide business-oriented solutions. Ideal candidates are technically proficient, thoughtful leaders who believe in investing in their team so that team can provide top‑notch service to our clients. Responsibilities Act as the people manager to a team of 2–4 Controllers, Accounting Manager and Staff Accountants Run monthly 1:1 check‑ins to support each team member’s individual growth and development needs Provide timely and direct feedback on an ongoing basis on both areas of strength as well as improvement Raise performance issues to their Director as they arise and act quickly to resolve them Oversee the end‑to‑end client experience and relationship by managing workflow and coordination among Aduro team members including Controllers, Accounting Managers, Management Company Team members and assigned Staff Accountants Ensure all clients have recurring client check‑in calls, either run by the Senior Controller or in‑charge Controller; topics to be covered include current status, open items, and an update from client on upcoming operational needs Directly respond to, or delegate, ad‑hoc client requests to confirm that they are answered in a thoughtful and professional manner that is in line with Aduro processes and industry best practices All client request emails should be responded to within 24 hours Manage team through month‑end close process and raise follow‑up questions internally or to the client (as appropriate) Coordinate review of investment information for all fund investments Coordinate review of quarterly financial statement package for each client with assigned Controllers Utilize proprietary investment management database to send investor correspondence including capital contributions, distributions, and quarterly reporting for assigned clients Ensure proprietary investment management database is up‑to‑date with fund activity and investments Oversee the preparation of audit materials and manage year‑end financial statement audit and tax work to be completed by Accounting Managers Respond to ad‑hoc General Partner / Limited Partner data requests Salary & Bonus The salary range for the Senior Controller position is $145,000 – $175,000. Salary is determined based on current market data and candidate experience level. Employees in the Senior Controller role are eligible to participate in the Aduro Bonus Program.
