Pharmacy Technician Opportunity The UW Medical Center-Montlake Outpatient Pharmacy has an outstanding opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician. This position is expected to last one year and is full-time, 40 hours per week, during the day shift. This position offers opportunities to work in an area that promotes healing, science, and learning, networking with other practitioners in different specialties, and learning about new therapies. All activities are performed under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Primary job responsibilities include performing certified order entry of medication orders, filling prescriptions, assisting patients with new prescriptions and refills, and assisting in the preparation of compound pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a pharmacist. Competitive candidates should have effective triage and communication skills, computer entry of prescriptions and charge/credit data, and the ability to perform bulk compounding of pharmaceuticals. Required position qualifications include six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or equivalent education/experience. Legal requirement includes State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification. UW Medicine is committed to being a drug-free workplace and requires a pre-employment drug screen.
