Minimum qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. 15 years of product management experience in enterprise hardware systems (compute, networking, storage). Experience with data center infrastructure and Cloud computing. Experience as a builder of infrastructure products. Preferred qualifications 8 years of experience as a leader of leaders. Experience partnering with hardware OEM vendors (e.g., Dell, NVIDIA). Understanding of the GenAI technology stack. Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies and trends, including public and private cloud, GPU, virtualization, and containerization. Ability to collect, analyze, and present market and customer data to drive strategic decision‑making. Excellent organization, prioritization, and written/verbal communication skills. Job description Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) is a cloud‑centric platform that enables enterprises to run modern applications anywhere consistently at scale. It offers managed software on your own hardware, fully managed hardware and AI‑led software services, and completely air‑gapped sovereign offerings. The Director of Product for GDC will define the long‑term vision, strategy, and roadmap for the GDC IaaS (Compute, Storage, and Networking) portfolio and hardware portfolio, aligning it with overall GDC goals, market trends, customer needs, and GTM strategy. Over time this team will create new products and services that support governments using AI for citizen services, manufacturers using visual inspections on factory floors, and retailers removing in‑store hardware, all while enabling dynamic, modern applications. The U.S. base salary range for this full‑time position is $272,000‑$383,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Pay is determined by role, level, location, and relevant experience. Salary details for other locations are available during the hiring process. Compensation listings reflect base salary only. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with engineering and sales teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and oversee the product development lifecycle from concept to launch. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of product managers, overseeing their performance and development. Identify and address technical risks, infrastructure bottlenecks, and scaling challenges. Work effectively with various teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, support, and other stakeholders, to ensure successful product execution.
