Solicitor – Family Law, Restraining Orders and Criminal Injuries Midlas – a non‑profit Community Legal Centre with offices in Midland and Ellenbrook. The role is fixed term until 30 June 2027, full time, and located on‑site in Midland, WA. Salary: A$100,783–$129,205 per annum (SCHADS Award level 6–8), plus 12 % superannuation and salary packaging. Work Type: Fixed Term, full time, on‑site. About You An enthusiastic, motivated solicitor who can work independently and collaboratively, providing high‑quality legal support within Family Law and Family Violence legal services. Junior and senior applicants welcome. Responsibilities Advising clients on family law matters. Drafting legal documents as required. Providing court representation. Advising clients on restraining order matters. Advising clients on criminal injuries compensation matters and assisting with lodging applications. Providing community legal education. Assisting senior solicitors and the legal services team with complex legal matters. Co‑location / outreach at partner sites including health, community, aged care facilities and other highly regulated environments. Qualifications & Experience Current Legal Practice Certificate issued by the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia. Unrestricted driver’s licence and reliable vehicle. Current satisfactory National Police Clearance (no older than 3 months) and ongoing renewal every 2 years. Working with Children Check. Experience in family law, restraining orders or criminal injuries compensation matters. High‑quality legal drafting skills and experience drafting Family Court documents. Strong research skills using legislation, case law, rulings and commentary. Experience managing legal files. Highly developed written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage workload and set priorities. Commitment to social justice and to providing exceptional client service.
