What to Expect The Autopilot Simulation team's goal is to recreate the real world to provide a comprehensive playground for Autopilot. The team builds a robust and accurate simulation with physics, photorealistic rendering, and intelligent actors to allow thorough testing and accelerated development. As a full-stack engineer on the Tesla Autopilot Simulation team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining cutting-edge tooling to amplify the impact of simulation in the training and validation of FSD models. Work on a wide range of tools, including 3D browser-based editors, data aggregation pipelines, dashboards, and more. What You'll Do Create, maintain, and expand internal tools for simulating and evaluating Autopilot vehicle behavior, focusing on accelerating the development and validation of our models Design and implement tools and dashboards to analyze simulation results, identify trends, and visualize key performance indicators Increase our scenario creation throughput by servicing the tooling requests of our Scenario Creation team Work closely with the simulation team and Autopilot organization to understand workflows and develop tools that enhance existing capabilities and unlock new ones Own the frontend, backend, and infrastructure of multiple applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security Drive projects from inception to completion, presenting work directly to organizational leadership What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical software engineering experience, or equivalent experience Strong proficiency in the following languages: Go, Python, TypeScript Familiarity with 3D work, such as Three.js, is highly beneficial Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Mongo) Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills Passion for autonomy, simulation, and accelerating the future of self-driving technology Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Aetna PPO and HSA plans > 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Account) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $132,000 - $390,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
