Candidates must demonstrate experience in and/or commitment to teaching. Applicants should possess a strong research interest and capability, evidenced by a history of or potential for professional growth. This includes regular publication in quality, refereed journals, participation in professional conferences, and an active, innovative research agenda. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with the business community. The SDSU Fowler College of Business, one of the nation’s oldest and largest AACSB‑accredited business schools, has a significant regional, national, and international impact. The Marketing Department’s faculty are active in research areas including consumer behavior, marketing management, strategy, and sales management, with expertise in experience design, sensory marketing, digital marketing, marketing analytics, societal impact, and sustainability. Their research has appeared in the Journal of Marketing, Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Advertising, and Journal of Public Policy and Marketing. Qualifications Required qualifications by date of application A record of original research / scholarly / creative accomplishments and demonstrated capacity to a) develop a vigorous and independent program of research / scholarship / creative activity, b) teach graduate and undergraduate courses; and c) engage in both campus and professional service activities. Doctorate in Marketing or a related field, with all degree requirements met before the first day of the Fall 2026 semester, August 19, 2026. Preferred qualifications Demonstrated expertise in the discipline and its methodologies Record of publications, presentations, and/or funding Demonstrated proficiency in interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches to research / scholarship / teaching University‑level teaching experience Preparation for teaching students from diverse backgrounds Demonstrated interest in relevant service to the university, community, and profession Engaged in service or research with different populations in higher education Understanding of the mission and goals of the academic unit and SDSU Application Instructions Apply by September 20th, 2025, providing the following materials: Cover letter, including information indicating how the applicant meets required/preferred qualifications in research, teaching, service and inclusive excellence Names and contact information for three references Writing sample or manuscript Teaching philosophy statement The minimum salary for this position is based on the current CSU salary schedule and may be revised based on contract collective bargaining. The anticipated salary range is from $138,000 to $142,000. Salary placement will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience, and salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
