Purpose of Position:
Assist with all areas of delivery, maintenance and inventory control including ordering, receiving, storing, shipping, equipment maintenance and perpetual inventory system.
Description of Required Duties and Tasks:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Inventory Control
- Use inventory management system to determine appropriate stock levels
- Order stock via wholesaler portal on a daily basis
- Assist pharmacy technicians with short stock and NDC conversion
- Assist nursing facilities and behavioral health centers with price quotes
- Organizes shelves and monitor medications for expiration
- Coordinate the flow of all inventory including pre-packing activities
- Monitor inventory zones to determine modifications
- Conduct daily audit counts
- Assist with returns, delivery and shipping/receiving as needed
- Special projects as needed
Returns/Delivery
- Process all returned medications and other stock
- Issue any applicable credits to payors in pharmacy dispensing software
- Return any unqualified returns to nursing facility and behavioral health centers for destruction
- Organize credited returned medications for distribution back into inventory
- Deliver and organize daily mail for THM
- Assist with maintenance/shipping-receiving activities, as needed
- Delivers and/or pick-up pharmaceuticals, mail, etc. to nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, etc. as needed.
Maintenance/Shipping Receiving
- General cleaning all areas of pharmacy
- Conduct general maintenance activities needed pharmacy
- Coordinate maintenance efforts with various vendors
- Assembles, inspects, records/tracks, repairs and safety tests equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments
- Verify shipments with bills of lading, invoices, orders, etc.
- Examine incoming shipments for damage, shortage and communicate with vendor to rectify
- Assist with returns and deliveries, as needed
- Actively participate in quarterly physical inventory count
- Follow all traffic laws
- Communicate information effectively to supervisor and others in a timely matter
- Maintain proficiency with computer systems
- Effectively demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and continually strives to improve quality standards
- Maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Adhere to the principles of the Employee Standards and Code of Conduct and reports any violations
- Knowledgeable and ensures compliance of current company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations
- Attend meetings and in-services as required
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge:
- Work requires knowledge of the pharmacy industry, Medicaid, CMS and other state/federal regulations
Required Skills:
Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed
- Maintaining an established work schedule

Required Work Experience:
- Two (2) to three (3) years of inventory, purchasing and or pharmacy technician experience
Desired Computer Skills:
- Framework LTC Software System
- MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Framework ECM Software System

- Standard Office Equipment
- Computer
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling
- Work is performed in a standard office environment
- Must have reliable transportation
Certification Requirements:
- Active Tennessee Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
- Active driver’s license
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Required Safety Expectations:
- Working safely and follow safety rules
- Report unsafe working conditions and behavior
- Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices
