The role of the fiscal specialist involves assisting the fiscal director with oversight of accounting and business office responsibilities at SEUALG/SERDA. Preferred candidates are those that have degrees and education in accounting/finance and experience. This position is a full-time, exempt position located in Price, Utah.
* * The fiscal specialist will report directly to the fiscal director and executive team.

* * Oversee philanthropic, state and federal grant financials for programs located at SEUALG /SERDA
Preparing and submitting reimbursement requests for state and federal grants
Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
Perform journal adjustments; record journal expenditures, budget changes, direct and indirect transfers, along with in-kind contributions; maintain general ledger and individual journals for each funding source, balances journals and general ledger
Ensure all financial operations comply with federal and state laws
Schedule and hold monthly budget meetings with program managers at SEUALG/SERDA to ensure grant revenues and expenditures
Maintaining historical records
Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports, when appropriate
Assisting fiscal director / personnel officer with some human resource tasks such as health and retirement benefits employee enrollment, questions, and reporting
Other duties as assigned by fiscal director, executive director, or deputy director
Preferred Qualifications:
Fiscal Specialist:
Background in finance, business studies or accounting such as degree and/or experience
Utah Driver's License (required)
Strong and professional communication skills with employees and grantors
Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
