The Department of Emergency Medicine offers faculty appointment at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at rank title assistant professor or higher, depending on qualifications. Aventura is only 15 miles to Miami Departmental Highlights This Level II Trauma Center treats over 60,000 patients annually at the Main Campus 40% admission rate Physician coverage allowing for a comfortable PPH of 2.16 24‑hour in‑house Trauma, Intensivist, Anesthesia, and Hospitalist coverage EMR is Meditech Pdoc with M-Modal GME Programs in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Surgery, Radiology, Transitional Year and Podiatry Requirements MD or DO. Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited or acceptable equivalent postgraduate training program in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM). Facility Information HCA Florida Aventura Hospital and Medical Center (AHMC) is a 407‑bed, acute care community hospital providing the residents of Miami‑Dade and Broward counties with award‑winning inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, medical, surgical and cancer services.
