  • Department: Surgery
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday.  We offer 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts.  While in orientation in the CV service line, it will be 8 hour shifts.  There is on-call with the CV team that is required when off of orientation.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

  • Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery. 
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instruments counts throughout procedures.
Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences

Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years experience as a surgical tech, prefer to have cardiac skills, but willing to train.
