About the Position This position is located in the Directorate of Surgery, Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology, at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Duties Provide Obstetrics services, to include both medical and surgical management, for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of prenatal and postnatal care. Provide Gynecology diagnosis and treatment, to include both medical and surgical management, to evaluate a wide range of female pelvic conditions or issues. Provide examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the full range of OB/GYN patients, from pediatric to geriatric patients. Evaluate both functional and dysfunctional problems related to the female pelvis, to include masses, pain, urological complaints, bleeding abnormalities, hormonal dysfunction, and infections. Perform advanced examination and treatment of patients referred for consultation. Requirements Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Position requires a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, tuberculosis etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician. Required to wear Personnel Protective Equipment. Required to lift less than 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. Pre‑employment physical required and annually thereafter. This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as on‑call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Designated Mission Essential: The event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man‑made disaster) the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. This position has a TDY or business travel requirement of 5% of the time to various locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles. This position is designated as having regular and recurring contact with children under the age of 18 and is subject to requirements of DoDI 1402.05 and AR 600-78. This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges. Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre‑employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
