POSITION DESCRIPTION: Chief Administrative Officer

SUMMARY: The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible to provide vision and leadership over the core administrative departments and functions of Esperanza Health Center. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CAO oversees the departmental leaders for Human Resources, Advancement, Facilities & Environmental Services, and Security & Emergency Management. The candidate will facilitate the application, compliance, and reporting for federal grants including UDS reporting. Working collaboratively with other members of the senior executive team, the CAO will play a significant role in accomplishing EHC's strategic plan goals and working to further its mission. This person will work to strengthen the administrative infrastructure of each department by supporting budget development and financial management to ensure operational efficiency, and will assess practices and outcomes to monitor effectiveness and excellence. Because of the continued growth of EHC, this role will require innovation and adaptability based on organizational need and to utilize the candidate's prior experience and skill set.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Oversees and supports the Director of Human Resources to: search, recruit, hire, and retain talent that is mission-oriented and effective in their roles; establish training programs for all levels of staff focusing on professional development and employee growth; and ensure that the organization is in compliance with all labor laws and other human resources functions.Guides and supports the work of the Advancement department in partnership with the Director of Development (grants, donor development, communications, social media and marketing), Director of Planning & Business Development (new business ventures and income stream development), and Director of Strategic Initiatives (new program initiatives and strategic planning).Facilitates the application, compliance, and reporting of federal grants and UDS reporting by giving direction to department directors to supply required information in a timely manner; serves as liaison with HRSA and other federal agencies.Provides direction and oversight to Facilities Management and Environmental Services to ensure that all sites are inviting, comfortable, and in excellent condition. Will play a leadership role in collaboration with other leaders for the implementation of new building projects.Guides Security and Emergency Management personnel to create safe spaces at all EHC locations; equipping them with resources, training, and tools needed to do their jobs with excellence. Will represent EHC in community-wide emergency management meetings.
