Orthopedic Technician

US Got People is seeking an Orthopedic Technician in support of the Orthopedics Department at the Military Treatment Facilities located in and around the MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL.

*Schedule/Location:*

•Monday - Friday 0700-1630 with a 60 minute lunch.

*Responsibilities:*

•Maintain clean and well-stocked cast and soft goods room; clean and maintain patient rooms, including restocking supplies and removing sharps containers as necessary; order special supplies, medications, and/or equipment.
• Assist with front desk operations, not to exceed 10% of clinical duties.
• Perform a variety of administrative duties in support of the clinic: input patient profiles in electronic record system; compose necessary correspondence, such as letters, doctor’s notes, and requests for information; process DME referrals, orient new clinic staff on location of various files, forms, and supplies; adjust provider’s schedules as needed.
• Perform a variety of surgical scheduling duties as needed: compose pre-op paperwork, including surgical packets; schedule and coordinate hospital pre-op appointments along with CT scan appointments for joint cases; compose paperwork for cancelled cases; other surgical scheduling duties as assigned.

*Requirements:*

• _Degree_: Certificate.

• _Education_: High school diploma or equivalent with additional training or education; supplemented with one (1) year of related experience in an accredited health care hospital which results in familiarity with and knowledge of hospital or clinic routines and procedures in orthopedics, including orthopedic trauma service, pediatrics, hand, foot and ankle, sports, and/or spine.

• _Certification_: Maintain a national certification by American Society Of Orthopedic Professionals (ASOP) or National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technologists. (NBCOT)

• _Experience_: one year of related experience in an accredited health care hospital

•Basic Life Support through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required
