The Head of Portfolio Management will play a pivotal role in the success of our private credit firm by institutionalizing and optimizing the portfolio management process across the organization. This individual will be responsible for automating technology solutions for portfolio company data, establishing robust reporting systems, and monitoring performance and risk metrics at both the fund and firm levels. Working closely with Investment, Finance, Risk, and IT teams, the Head of Portfolio Management will ensure that detailed dashboards, push reporting, and proactive alert systems are implemented to drive transparency, accuracy, and effective decision‑making. This role requires a strategic, hands‑on leader with deep expertise in private credit, portfolio analytics, and technology‑driven process improvement. The role will entail the following: Institutionalize the Portfolio Management Process: Develop and implement comprehensive processes that standardize portfolio management across the firm. Ensure that best practices are integrated into daily operations to enhance efficiency and data integrity. Undertake detailed modeling and analysis in support of the firm’s fund activities and investments. Automation of Technology Solutions: Spearhead initiatives to automate data aggregation from portfolio companies at both the fund and firm levels. Collaborate with IT and technology vendors to deploy and maintain cutting‑edge portfolio management systems. Valuation and Quarterly Review: Manage quarterly portfolio reviews across all names in the firm’s portfolio, ensuring a thorough evaluation of performance, risks, and valuation marks through collaboration with the firm’s third‑party valuation provider. Oversee amendment activity and collaborate with the deal team as needed to update valuations, capture key developments, and align portfolio strategies with evolving market conditions. Detailed Push Reporting and Dashboard Development: Design and manage automated reporting systems that provide real‑time dashboards of fund and firm‑level holdings and KPIs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Ensure reports are tailored to the needs of various stakeholders for timely decision‑making. Performance Metrics and Attribution Analysis: Oversee the generation of detailed push reporting on performance metrics, including comprehensive attribution analysis delivered on a daily, weekly, and monthly cadence. Utilize data‑driven insights to assess investment performance and inform strategy adjustments. Alerts and Compliance Processes: Establish processes for real‑time alerts related to investment guidelines, risk parameters, and portfolio allocation targets. Work with the compliance and portfolio managers teams to ensure that any deviations from established thresholds are promptly addressed. Create and manage the firm‑wide credit watch list. Benchmark and Risk Monitoring: Continuously monitor portfolio performance against predefined benchmarks on a regular basis. Track portfolio exposures and concentrations, and implement necessary risk mitigation strategies to protect the firm’s investments. Cross‑Functional Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate closely with investment, finance, risk, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of portfolio management processes with overall firm strategy. Drive technology‑driven process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy. Skills, experience and education: 10+ years of experience in portfolio management, risk management, private credit, direct lending, or alternative investments. Proven track record in designing and automating portfolio management processes and technology solutions. Expertise in data analytics, dashboard development, performance attribution analysis, and risk management. Proficiency with portfolio management systems, data visualization tools, and advanced Excel or database systems. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with a relentless focus on process improvement. Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects in a dynamic, high‑growth environment. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
