OverviewKamatics, a divison of Kaman that speicalizes in self-lubricating bearings and engineered products, is looking for talented CNC Machinists We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated CNC Machinist to join our team in Bloomfield, CT on 1st shift supporting our Kaflex Value Stream. The core hours for the position are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and we are currently running one hour of mandatory overtime, at the beginning of the shift for a required 45 hours a week. Overttime pay is 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours in excess of 40 hours in a week. This includes a one week paid shutdown during the holidays that does not require you to use vacation time. As an industry leader we design, test and manufacture the highest performing, self-lubricating, roller element, metal to metal and miniature bearings in the industry.Come see what we are about: Kaman Specialty Bearing on YouTubeEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMachinist IV Independently sets up, adjusts, troubleshoots and checks out programming and operates numerically controlled machine tools (2 axis lathe / 3 axis mill) to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring an intermediate level of skill Setups involve familiarity with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations such as milling, boring, recessing, turning, drilling, threading, screw machine operation, etc., to the capacity of the machine and control factor Works from programs, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions Self-sufficient with material clamping methods, machine adjustments/offsets and console settings Foundational Competencies (All Levels): Dependability - Can be relied upon to complete work with the appropriate level of supervision and direction; carries out instructions accurately; punctual Quality & Continuous Improvement - Optimizes efficiency without sacrificing quality; demonstrates attention to detail; participates in formal and informal improvement efforts Communication - Effectively communicates and ensures the message intended is the message received Teamwork and Collaboration - Contributes to positive relationships; works collaboratively with others Safety and Compliance - Employs safe work habits and complies with all safety protocols; employs good housekeeping practices; reports safety violations promptly; adheres to company policies QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent; a Machining Certificate preferredExperience: Mimimum of three years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment Understand the use and inspection methods of GD&T constraints Proficient in use of shop math Works independently, with minimal supervision Troubleshoots basic programming errors such as taper, chatter and chip control Proficient in setting up CNC machine Works to standard in jaw-cutting, bringing a part to size and inspecting a part for a first piece Has working knowledge of the relationship between federate and surface finish as well as surface speed to material type #KAM#LI-AF1
