Engineering Technician needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Palm Bay, FL. Contract Length: 9+ Months *Must have an active Secret clearance to be considered for this role.* Must have skills: * HS Diploma or GED * Cable and harness installation, routing and cable management, cable mate/demate experience * Mechanical assembly and test of hardware including ESD sensitive hardware * Hardware integration * Rigging/overhead crane, * Preparation for and conducting system level hardware testing (deployments, environments testing, etc.). * Performing system level alignments to meet system requirements * Field support for launch vehicle integration only during a one week timeframe at the end of the year. * Move equipment weighing 45 pounds or less from one place to another-anthing over this is a two person lift * Occasional repetitive movements during specified durations. * Manual dexterity, motor skills and situational awareness to handle and manufacture space hardware. * Cable routing and wire harness * Basic computer skills * Experience using torque driver, power supply; * Small hand tools. * Mixing and applying adhesives Job Description Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. May work with complex machines or computer systems. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Overall Summary Fully proficient support individual contributor. Works under limited supervision. May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise. Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment. Nature of Supervision Works under limited supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required. Communication & Influence Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
