LEAD SHIELDING

WECTEC STAFFING IS CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR LEAD SHIELDING TECHNICIANS FOR THE UPCOMING 2024 OUTAGE AT BRUNSWICKShielding Technician / HandlerShielding technician duties include installing shielding as directed by the team leader in accordance with the Temporary Shielding Request (TSR). The Shielding Technician will also assist in building frames for shielding as directed by the team leader. Shielding handler duties include movement of lead to various locations, lifting and passing lead blankets to co-workers under the direction of a more experienced worker. Lead handler may at times assist with installation of lead blankets on components under the direction of a more experienced worker.Education / Training RequirementsHigh School or equivalent reading and math skillsSatisfy all requirements required to obtain a Level II Nuclear Access BadgeMinimum Skill Requirements and AccountabilitiesFollow industrial safety and ALARA work practicesEffectively communicate and interact with co-workers, Supervisors, and Purchaser's staff to ensure safe and quality job completion for all assignmentsUse administrative documents, procedures, data sheets/forms properly.Read and interpret procedures and drawings as required by positionClimb and work from ladders and scaffolding.Practice Foreign Material Exclusion and Housekeeping per station directivesPass a respirator physical and fit test (if required)Wear required personal protective equipmentHandle a minimum of 75 lbs and lift a minimum of 50 lbs overheadPerform work in a professional (neat and orderly) fashionWork in hot or cold environments or confined spacesPossess the physical stamina to lift and pass lead shielding blankets as assigned.Assist in installing lead blankets as instructed on various components and piping systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
