Job Location and Compensation Location: Denver, COSalary Range: $45,000 - $71,550 Key Responsibilities Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters, managing the front end of the store and making recommendations on overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store. Support the Store Manager with overall store operation to achieve company deliverables, working an alternate schedule with minimal overlap and assuming full responsibilities in the Manager’s absence. Ensure proper merchandising, protect store assets, and improve sales and profitability. Lead and manage the store team, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline of direct reports to ensure engagement and deliverables. Customer Experience Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving complaints promptly, and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Model and share best customer‑service practices. Monitor customer service, coach and train staff, and develop improvement plans, empowering team members to find impactful resolutions and exceed expectations to build loyalty. Accountable for improving overall customer service metrics. Operations Supervise store and team operations, assigning daily activities, delegating tasks, handling opening/closing shifts, approving time records, and managing scheduling conflicts for proper coverage. Collaborate with external partners for community outreach opportunities and support the Pharmacy Operations Manager. Leverage data, analysis, and team input to make fact‑based decisions and monitor impact. Manage store cash operations including register counts, bank withdrawals, armored car pickups, safe deposits, and overall bookkeeping. Supervise front‑end and pharmacy inventory, perform resets/revisions, make price changes, analyze inventory trends, and train staff on SOPs. Ensure execution of operational feedback from the Store Manager and District Manager through supervision of team members. Maintain store interior and exterior cleanliness, manage repairs, respond to emergencies, ensure safety training, and comply with all company policies and applicable laws. Complete any special assignments as directed. Full Store Operation Business Performance Management Independently analyze financial and performance data and create action plans to achieve business deliverables. Use operating statements, KPIs, and other tools to engage the team; drive solutions and actions for store improvement with the Store Manager. Support Pharmacy during busy periods as a technician when necessary. People & Performance Management Lead and train team members, providing coaching, mentoring, performance plans, and development support; manage discipline and recommend terminations when appropriate. Set goals, observe performance, give feedback, and recognize effectiveness to improve overall team performance. Acquire and retain talent, build pipelines, forecast staffing needs, manage candidate pools, interview, and make hiring decisions. Ensure proper procedures for selection, recruitment, record‑keeping, and training per company policy and legal compliance. Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations, performance improvement plans, and constructive discipline. Training & Personal Development Complete the Store Manager learning and development program, all required courses, certifications, and any training assigned by the Store Manager, District Manager, and company leaders. Monitor personal performance, seek continuous feedback, and commit to self‑development with an Individual Development Plan. Maintain a valid pharmacy technician license as required by state. Communications Communicate regularly with team members through one‑on‑one discussions and group meetings to keep channels open and address concerns. Assist the Store Manager in planning and communicating company and store strategy. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record (all majors welcome) OR a Walgreens Community Internship Program completion OR a High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated leadership abilities, strong communication skills, business acumen, ethics, and self‑motivation. Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of ESM start date. Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including extended days, evenings, and weekends. Willingness to accept promotion to Store Manager if offered, potentially requiring relocation to a different store location. Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring area. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Internal candidates: Management experience, including supervising others, managing, and assigning work across both front‑end and pharmacy. External candidates: Business majors with prior retail or food industry experience.
