Mill Worker

Description Position at Hood Distribution Job Description/Responsibilities:Operates forklift truck during the loading and unloading of lumber materialUtilize cutting tools and equipment such as power saw and circular sawEntails overseeing the sorting arrangement of lumber according to sizeGuide lumber through mill equipment, and planning mill for fine finishing and processing.Take inventory and maintain accurate record of material, process ordersMaximize production time and finish product yieldPerforms quality control on finished productsMaintains PPE and safety equipmentAbility to calculate tallies ( understand difference between LF & BF )Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during work operations Physical strength, dexterity and staminaManages routine maintenance and necessary repairs on equipmentAssures that stock is handled properly and rotated to minimize waste and damage.Forklift Certification required Works with inside and outside sales staff as needed to provide sales support and/or information Requirements/Qualifications: High School diplomaSome experience in warehouse operations, distribution, etc. in building materials or related product areas Additional Information:Hood offers a competitive salary and a generous benefit package (medical, dental, vision, cancer, life, 401K, LTD, FSA, EAP, PTO, and holidays) available first of the month following completion of one month of continuous full-time employment.Hood Distribution requires that applicants consent to a background check and a drug screen to continue in the selection process.
