Senior MEP Project Manager at Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute – a role reporting to the Director of Engineering in the Division of Facilities Management and Real Estate. This position directs engineering for projects supporting the institute’s mission, leads MEP projects, and ensures compliance with codes, standards, and the institute’s strategic plan.ResponsibilitiesSupport Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) Project Managers in MEP/FP design and implementation.Perform drawing reviews of MEP documents during design and construction.Survey and administer construction of MEP/FP components; coordinate field activities.Ensure compliance with drawings, design standards, and expedite field changes.Review project submittals, reports, and documentation to meet requirements and DFCI standards.Manage, maintain, and enforce MEP/FP standards; revise design standards in coordination with PDC and Facility Operations.Provide technical engineering support & training to Facilities Operations Group; standardize project turnover documentation.Assist the Director of Engineering in monitoring & implementing systems for new projects and operations.Prepare formal RFPs for engineering services when no architect is required.Collaborate with the DFCI Architect to maintain the Plan, specification, standards, and design intent database.Monitor & troubleshoot all control systems (DDC, Electrical, Pneumatic).Implement training for DDC systems, update software, and develop new control programs.Revise and establish preventative maintenance procedures to improve equipment performance and joint‑commission compliance.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervise consulting engineers and contractors on multiple projects.Lead coordination meetings with MEP/FP engineering firms, controls vendors, and commissioning vendors.Provide leadership in operational and energy‑management areas without direct supervisory authority.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Design Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).15 years of design engineering and project‑management experience in healthcare/research environments or 10 years managing BIM/Controls teams and smart‑building projects (preferred).Strong knowledge of construction processes, design, building automation, thermodynamics, power distribution, NFPA 101 & NFPA 99, BAS, IBC and related codes.Excellent decision‑making skills: evaluate costs, benefits, and provide cost‑justification reports.Proficiency in BIM/REVIT and allied technologies.Experience with MEP/FP standards, code compliance, and facility operations.Demonstrated leadership and training skills.Pay Transparency StatementThe hiring range is based on market pay structures and determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions and internal equity, based on the candidate’s experience, skills and qualifications.
