Overview:

Diet Technician

Part-time for about 16 hours a week

Responsibilities

  • Works under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian in providing nutrition care for patients/residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility.
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering resident meals according to individual dietary needs and physician orders.
  • Collaborate with the dietary team to assess and implement residents' nutritional plans.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and therapeutic diet guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents' dietary requirements and adjustments.
  • Interact positively with residents, staff, and guests, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nutrition/dietetics or Certified Dietary Manager required.
  • 1-3 years of dietary experience in long-term care in a consultant or supervisory role required.
  • In the process of obtaining Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration preferred.
  • General knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
  • Ability to follow meal schedules and read food tray cards accurately.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain records.
  • Ability to interact positively with residents and staff.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 10 lbs., push/pull 10 lbs., and work around food and cleaning products.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies is required.
  • Must live in the service area.
