Medical Science Liaison - Radiology - Midwest/Great Lakes Region Location: Whippany, New Jersey Employment Type: Contract Compensation: $51.13 - 60.16 per hour Work Hours: 9 to 5 Education: Doctorate (PharmD, MD, PhD, MBBS, or equivalent) Target States: KS, NE, SD, CO Job Summary: This Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Radiology role is a remote, field‑based contract opportunity. You will act as the scientific expert for radiology products, primarily contrast media, educating healthcare providers, building relationships with leading radiologists, and gathering field insights. The role requires a strong scientific background, some MSL experience, and significant travel (up to 40%) within an assigned region. You will serve as the crucial link between the company and medical professionals, ensuring accurate scientific exchange and product understanding. Responsibilities Provide scientific and objective medical information to healthcare providers and researchers in radiology. Develop and execute clinical/medical education strategies and provide training via in‑person, virtual, and hybrid environments. Serve as medical and scientific support in the field, ensuring safe and effective product use including timely adverse event reporting and responses to unsolicited requests for detailed product and disease‑state information. Develop a comprehensive understanding of national and regional experts/thought leaders in specific therapeutic categories and their healthcare environment. Assist customers with best practices and a deep understanding of Radiology workflow. Collaborate with internal business partners as an expert consultant to meet specific scientific needs of internal and external contacts within specific therapeutic and geographic areas. Represent the company at scientific conferences, symposiums, and medical meetings. Travel up to 50% of the time within the assigned territory; remote work with minimal overnight travel. Qualifications PharmD, MD, PhD, MBBS, or equivalent. Maintenance of scientific expertise. Complete core training curriculum and basic MSL certification. Full participation in therapeutic area updates and/or training initiatives (e.g., journal clubs). Medical conference attendance and reviews. Routine self‑paced reading of current publications. Professional licensure with CEU documentation where applicable. Completion of recertification and advanced certification where applicable. Presentations to external audiences. Timely, accurate, specific, and balanced responses to PIR in collaboration with Medical Communications. Adherence to SOP and FDA guidance for distribution of scientific information. Adherence to SOP and compliance guidelines for all external contacts. Prepares and presents data to internal audiences including MA and Commercial partners. Provides inputs for developing materials for internal and external use. Engage Thought Leaders – criteria‑based selection and validation to identify TL status. Routine contacts with TLs. Research site identification and investigator‑initiated research (IIR) support. Speaker training and evaluation. Advisory board coordination, workshop leadership, and/or presentation at advisory board. Coordinate National/International TL engagement with senior management and other key internal partners. Identify customer medical/clinical needs and challenges within the suite. Differentiates features and value of company products/services across Radiology portfolio. Assist customer on basic protocol adaptation and answer any focused/alternative protocol inquiries. Ensure alignment and collaboration across internal stakeholders including R&D, clinical, and commercial teams. Drive high customer satisfaction and experience. Regularly report relevant competitive activity. Identify account/hospital influence level for input into commercial segmentation. Drive scientific discussions on patient needs and data gaps (e.g., IIR). Key Working Relationships Healthcare providers, researchers, radiographers, and academic experts in the field.
