Our mission is to improve human health through personalized, actionable insights. Meet the Team Join our Manufacturing Equipment Engineering team at the San Diego Innovation Center of Excellence. As a Sr Mechanical Engineer, you will provide day‑to‑day technical support for pilot plant operations and process equipment enhancements, focusing on advancing our sensor technology. Responsibilities Provide direct equipment support to manufacturing areas and conduct hands‑on investigation and troubleshooting of equipment issues. Apply structured problem‑solving, DMAIC methodology, and statistical data analysis for engineering studies. Develop, commission, and validate pilot‑level fixtures and semi‑automated or automated equipment, including design and hands‑on experience with automated assembly cells/machines. Create test plans, protocols, and reports to ensure designs meet product and part specifications, regulatory requirements, and applicable standards (including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols). Perform validation IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, ensuring equipment/processes meet specifications, performance, regulatory, and business requirements. Collaborate with interdepartmental groups—Quality Assurance, R&D, ITOT, Process Engineering—to provide documentation and operational support. Support commissioning and sustaining of new equipment changes. Qualifications Hands‑on experience with SolidWorks and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience working with PLC, HMI, robotics, and vision systems. Proficiency in applying statistical tools to troubleshoot and develop products and processes. Ability to analyze manufacturing failures of mechanical components, sub‑assemblies, and instruments, and provide corrective and preventative solutions.
