We have been retained by an Atlanta-based higher education client on a search for a Director/Sr Director of Human Resources (“HR”). Position Overview:
The Director of HR is a key member of the leadership team, providing strategic and operational leadership in all aspects of human resources. This role leads the development and execution of HR strategy in support of the organization’s mission and overall strategic direction. The Director of HR leads a team of HR professionals for a progressive organization with approximately 400 full-time employees.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategies to support the organization's mission and goals.
- Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development.
Employee Engagement & Retention
- Create and implement programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
- Oversee employee recognition and career development initiatives.
- Analyze trends in engagement and turnover, offering actionable solutions.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, including strategic planning and onboarding programs.
- Foster partnerships with hiring managers and external recruiting partners.
Compliance & HR Operations
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.
- Oversee payroll and benefits management, including annual reviews and vendor negotiations.
Performance Management & Professional Development
- Implement performance management systems and professional growth opportunities.
- Provide training on leadership, compliance, and best practices.
Offboarding & Data Insights
- Streamline offboarding processes and conduct exit interviews to capture actionable insights.
- Leverage HR metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of HR experience in dynamic organizations, including at least 4 years in leadership roles.
- Minimum of 2 years in HR roles in education.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field (Master’s degree and HR certifications preferred).
- Deep knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to influence change and foster a positive workplace culture.
