Enterprise Solution Architect

OverviewEnterprise Solution Architect position in Richmond, VA, US. The role involves creating overall application and solution architectures, component designs, and systems integration for enterprise applications. The candidate will collaborate with IT staff to translate business needs into automated solutions and develop architecture roadmaps to support agency KPIs. Note: VDOT's probationary period is three months, during which the candidate is expected to be onsite in Richmond, VA 3-4 days per week. After this period, the position may transition to a largely remote posture with a minimum onsite requirement of 1 week per quarter and additional time as needed for specific assignments.ResponsibilitiesCreate overall application and solution architectures, component designs, and systems integration and implementations for a particular business solution.Lead efforts in defining, documenting and estimating for enterprise applications.Capture requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, on-prem, hybrid and cloud topologies, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, system inputs and outputs.Collaborate with other IT staff to assess business needs and requirements and translate them into automated solutions.Produce relevant solution design artifacts including technical estimates, conceptual, logical and physical system designs, sequence diagrams, and data models.Coordinate new system development to ensure it is consistent and well integrated with existing application systems and COTS solutions.Analyze and estimate feasibility and compatibility with hardware and other programs; consult with clients to prototype, architect, and design applications to meet needs.Collaborate with Business areas and cross-functional Enterprise Architects to fully understand business needs and provide strategic consultation.Partner with architects and other technical team members to develop roadmaps and strategies to support agency KPIs.Design/implement enterprise security/technology patterns.Consult with teams on initiatives and provide tactical direction as well as architecture considerations on legacy solutions.QualificationsExperience with SAFe architecture and proven work experience with Agile/Scrum teams.Proven experience in developing enterprise and solution level architectural designs.Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional applications between disparate business units and systems.Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data mapping.Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques.Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc.Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.Competency with XML constructs and schemas.Confidence and experience with API protocols and schemas such as SOAP and REST.Strong understanding of end-user needs and requirements.Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.Ability to work creatively and analytically in a team environment.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Skill MatrixExperience in enterprise-level application design and integration Required 8 YearsExperience in Azure (cloud-native and hybrid architecture) Required 8 YearsExperience with Docker and azure cloud services such as AKS, Azure functions, Azure Container Service, Azure App services, Azure API Management Required 5 YearsExperience working with Azure Data factory, Azure Data Lake Required 2 YearsExperience in SaaS (Software as a Service) architecture Required 8 YearsExperience with integration architecture and proven work experience with Agile/Scrum teams Required 8 YearsExperience with architecture engagement in Agile methodologies (SAFe and Scrum) Required 8 YearsExperience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) and Dynamics365 Required 2 YearsExperience with Esri ArcGIS Nice to have 2 YearsBenefitsLong-Term Stability: Join us on a multi-year opportunities with room to grow.Comprehensive Health Coverage: Access quality healthcare benefits to keep you and your family well.Future Planning: Enroll in our 401(k) program and invest in your financial security.GC Assistance: We support immediate Green Card processing, if required.Additional DetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Engineering and Information TechnologyIndustries: IT Services and IT Consulting #J-18808-Ljbffr
