GPAC, collaborating with a prominent underground construction company, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Pipe Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in underground utilities installation, including water mains, lift stations, storm drainage, gravity sewer, large-diameter pressure pipe, and mechanical piping. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to essential infrastructure projects and work alongside a reputable company in the Clarksville area.
Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utility pipelines.
- Lay and align pipes, typically ranging from water mains to large diameter pressure pipes, according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Assist in excavating trenches, backfilling excavations, and compacting soil to ensure proper pipe installation and alignment.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment, such as trenchers, excavators, and compactors, safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and fellow team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Adhere to safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Pipe Layer in underground utilities construction.
- Proven expertise in installing and maintaining various types of underground utility pipelines, including water mains, lift stations, storm drainage, gravity sewer, large diameter pressure pipe, and mechanical piping.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments.
- Possession of relevant certifications or licenses, such as OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification, is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
