Salary: $85,231.44 - $136,370.31 Annually Location: City of Doral, FL Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 11242025 Department: Information Technology Opening Date: 11 / 24 / 2025 Closing Date: 12 / 8 / 2025 5 : 00 PM Eastern General Purpose This position performs architecting, designing, traffic engineering, installing, managing, integrating, and optimizing the performance and capacity of the enterprise network for the City of Doral. Duties include integrating and troubleshooting issues regarding security, data, video, VoIP, applications, cloud, and wireless operations across multiple locations and hybrid data centers. Supervision Received and Exercised This position is classified as an exempt, full-time role with a 40‑hour work‑week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshoots network connectivity or performance problems and provides technical support for network security, data, VoIP, video, eFax, wireless, servers, endpoints, printers, cloud services, and application systems to determine causes of failure; implements appropriate remedies following best practices. Integrates solution systems and cloud services with the City’s infrastructure. Plans and creates engineered designs and architecture for the network infrastructure, network security, data, VoIP, video, eFax, wireless, servers, endpoints, printers, cloud services, IoT, and application systems. Operates, manages, and optimizes network routers and switches, wireless access points, firewalls, IPS/IDS, phone and eFax systems, network balances, monitoring tools, VPN systems, and other systems; conducts patching, updates, and migrations. Monitors and addresses issues of networks and systems. Installs physical hardware and software/systems related to network infrastructure, security, data, VoIP, video, eFax, wireless, servers, endpoints, printers, cloud services, IoT, and application systems. Collaborates and coordinates meetings with others related to common projects. Leads related technical projects working with consultants and vendors; supervises work and conducts the configuration/provision portion of the City’s infrastructure. Produces and maintains network documentation, such as technical diagrams, user guides, procedures, policies, settings, and troubleshooting actions to continually improve performance, availability, reliability, integrity, and security of the City’s data network, voice, wireless, cloud workflows, and video infrastructure. Prepares technical documents and reports as requested by management or department heads. Assists in the development of the department’s budget; recommends expenditures. Opens tickets and escalates incidents with service providers as needed. Conducts facility surveys for upgrades or acquisition of new technologies or future changes. Supervises assigned technical workers. Performs other related job duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Industry certifications qualifying individuals with expertise in Network Management and Server Management preferred. At least four (4) years of progressive technical specialization in one of the following areas: Network and Systems Security, including Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewall security, Public Key Infrastructures, Digital signature deployment, advanced domain security. Virtualization Infrastructure Management and Administration. Backup and Replication Management. Client‑encrypted virtualization software. TCP/IP Network Design and implementation, including routing, firewall implementation. Microsoft Domain Management systems, including IIS, Domain deployment. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered. A valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required. Special Qualifications Certifications desired: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP); Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise (CCNP‑E); Criminal Justice Information System Security (CJIS Level 4); Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate (PCCSA). Physical Demands The work is sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Other demands include balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, handling, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, and operating motor vehicles or equipment. Work Environment Work is performed in a relatively safe, secure, and stable environment. Duties may require working after hours as needed. Summary of Benefits Introductory Period: Twelve (12) months for new hires, rehires, and promotions. Absences during Introductory Period: Any absences beyond ten (10) workdays extend the period by the number of days absent.
