Logistics Specialist & Supply Chain Coordinator 1 Job Pay Competitive Employment type: Full-Time Job Description Req#: 62462 The Logistics Specialist/Supply Chain Coordinator reports to the Site Manager with a dotted line to Central Supply Chain Group. In this role, the candidate, with the support of corporate teams, will manage daily shipping/receiving and logistics demands. Will coordinate raw materials based on S&OP forecast and work on short and long term production planning to ensure ability of plant to produce and satisfy customer orders. This position is part of a small management team and is expected to learn and evolve in role quickly. Occasional off-hours calls will be required in this fast-paced, fast-changing environment. Activities may include: Logistics: 50% Works with approved carriers to schedule daily shipments and ensure timely delivery of quality products to customers. Maintains a positive relationship and open dialogue with carriers to ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and understood. Performs SAP Goods Issues on a daily basis. Will maintain periodic cycle count of raw materials and finished goods inventories. Will perform annual physical inventory for all RM (raw material) and FG (finished goods) inventories. Communicate any changes in batch production and or ship dates to Plant Manager and BU (business unit) Leadership. Communicate with the Production Leader to ensure delivery dates and production process needs. Responsible for communication of production/shipping expectations to CSRs (customer service representatives) that can or will result in a negative customer experience. Participates and represents Logistics and Supply chain in internal and external audits. Participate in and deliver Focal Point responsibilities for Inventory Record Accuracy projects, as appropriate/defined for the facility. Facilitates and leads green belt projects or initiatives to optimize warehouse operations for improved customer satisfaction. Supply Chain: 50% Job holder will work closely with purchasing, plant operations, and logistics to ensure optimization of the supply chain (product flow and inventory management). Work effectively with others throughout the supply chain organization to solve problems and meet performance goals for customer satisfaction and margin. Provide insight and escalate concerns as soon as possible so that demand planning is aware of supply challenges. Performs SAP requisitions for production process supplies (seals, filters, sample cups, scale tickets, etc.). Perform SAP goods receipt for raw materials. Review and maintain MRP exception messages and take required action to resolve planning, scheduling and supply issues for assigned facilities. Exception-Based Planning is performed in accordance with managed MRP master data. These tasks must incorporate and resolve new/growth volumes, new product scale ups, product capability vs. capacity matches, and optimized asset utilization (i.e., receiving, reactor, kettle, storage, and loading). Release raw material requisitions as necessary to meet plant and assigned facility demands and in support of inventory targets. Escalate and expedite raw material and finished goods shipments when required with key suppliers and service providers. Create Production Orders for each reactor and sequence the Production Orders into an optimized Production Schedule in SAP. Responsible for supply side planning and execution in the S&OP process (in conjunction with the S&OP demand manager). Organize and facilitate biweekly plant schedule, order, and inventory review with key participants. Interact with key commercial team members on customer communications. When required, provide input on lead time adjustment based on supply/demand to the Commercial Team. Represent Supply Chain and Logistics in plant MOC activities. Responsible for COPQ tracking and reporting for NKC site. Supports SAP requisitioning and invoice processing. Other duties as assigned (i.e., backup duties for other business critical job functions). The successful candidate will have: 5-7 years + experience in planning manufacturing operations. High school diploma or equivalent with associates or BS Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field preferred. Knowledge of materials management, supplier quality and performance requirements: understanding of production processes and S&OP process. Knowledge of business methods and procedures and the use of MRP/ERP (SAP experience preferred). Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and focus on detail while prioritizing and organizing daily work schedule effectively. Proven ability to multitask and adapt to change. Ability to influence others without formal authority.
