MEDICAL OFFICE SPECIALIST - PRN at Manatee Physician Alliance Position Summary The Medical Office Specialist is responsible for front desk coverage for the medical practice, including registration, check‑in, collecting co‑pays, scheduling appointments, billing patients, and scanning records into the EMR, reports, and correspondence. The role requires medical terminology knowledge, strong organizational and communication skills, adaptability to flexible schedules and frequent interruptions, a professional appearance, calm disposition, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Confidentiality is essential, and the candidate must be reliable, tactful, honest, discreet, and able to complete assignments to successful conclusion. Responsibilities Provide front‑desk coverage during daylight hours, Monday through Friday (no nights or weekends). Operate in office locations in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and Sarasota. Qualifications Minimum of one year of medical or related experience preferred. Reliability, responsibility, dependability, and fulfillment of obligations required. Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, office systems, and terminology. Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Understanding of customer service principles and processes, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating satisfaction. Experience in data entry, customer service, collections, and medical terminology preferred. Education High school graduate or equivalent required. Completion of a Medical Office Assistant/Specialist program or Medical Assistant program preferred.
