As a Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste. You will lead a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff, inspiring creativity, maintaining consistency, and fostering a collaborative environment. This role requires a passion for culinary excellence, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering memorable dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute innovative and seasonal menus that showcase fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and assistants, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and cost control measures to optimize profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance culinary offerings and guest satisfaction.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture, promoting teamwork, communication, and professional development among kitchen staff.
- Ensuring that all food meets the highest quality standards and is served on time.
- Planning the menu and designing the plating presentation for each dish.
- Coordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as required.
- Hiring and training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
- Stocktaking ingredients and equipment, and placing orders as needed.
- Enforcing best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
- Creating new recipes to regularly update the menu.
- Keeping track of new trends in the industry.
- Incorporating feedback from restaurant staff and patrons to make improvements or resolve issues.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef in a high-volume, upscale dining establishment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institute.
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles, with a focus on contemporary and innovative cuisine.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for food and a dedication to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Qualification from a culinary school.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar position.
- In-depth knowledge of food principles and best practices.
- Passion for creating incredible food that delights and attracts customers.
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- Creative, innovative thinking.
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety.
- Experience managing inventories and stocktaking.
- Available to work on-call, shifts, after hours, over weekends, and on holidays.
