Job DetailsJob LocationHOUSTON COLLISION CENTER - Katy, TXDescriptionSummaryThe purpose of the Autobody Paint Helper is to perform skilled work in preparing, refinishing and painting metal and other surfaces.The location for this role is currently located in Katy, TX but we are excited to be opening a brand new facility in Brookshire, TX in the next few months Please only apply if you are comfortable with starting this role in Katy and eventually transitioning to our Brookshire facility.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnforce all company policies as defined in the SMEG Company HandbookInteract with customers, vendors and entire service staff Maintain neat and professional personal appearance at all times, wearing appropriate logo assigned company shirtsMeasures area to be painted; determines quantity and type of paint to use for the project.Identifies and orders appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed.Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods.Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects hardware, trim, and other nonpainted surfaces.Applies primer and finish coats to fire apparatus using lacquers and synthetic paints and enamelsUnderstanding of productivity goals and review for areas in need of improvement Participate in morning meetings with service staff to plan the dayMaintain accurate, timely and legible company designed reports and paperworkComplies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.Cleans and maintains spray guns and other painting equipmentMaintains a clean work area.Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesN/AQualificationsQualificationsThe Autobody Paint Helper must be able to clearly demonstrate their ability to set and reach performance goals set forth by the owner/operator.Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.Good knowledge of the processes, techniques and materials used in painting automotive equipmentMust have the ability to work independently or with less supervisionShould have excellent verbal communication skillsMust have the ability to work under pressureExperience within Fire and Emergency related industryMust be self-motivated Exceptional organizational methods Attention to detail and the ability to provide consistent workDedication to customer service and business successAbility to engage in and maintain positive relationships with employees, vendors and customers Computer skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook Email, Microsoft Word & Excel programs as well with any company provided softwareEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDFormal Training and/or Trade School Training PreferredValid Driver's License and eligible to be covered under the Siddons Martin insurance policy
