5 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants The Real-Time Crime Analyst (RTCA) provides analytical and operational support to law enforcement personnel by monitoring, collecting, and analyzing information in real time. The analyst uses advanced technologies, databases, and intelligence platforms to identify emerging incidents, criminal patterns, and public safety threats. The RTCA assists in deploying resources strategically, enhances situational awareness for field operations, and supports ongoing investigations by transforming data into actionable intelligence. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Real-Time Monitoring: Continuously monitor computer-aided dispatch (CAD), automated license plate readers (ALPR), camera systems, and other intelligence platforms to identify incidents or trends requiring law enforcement attention. Operational Support: Provide timely information and intelligence to responding units, supervisors, and command staff during critical incidents, pursuits, major crimes, or developing events. Data Analysis: Analyze crime data, calls for service, and intelligence reports to identify crime trends, hotspots, and emerging threats. Provide actionable insights that guide resource deployment and crime prevention strategies. Information Dissemination: Produce and distribute bulletins, situational awareness reports, officer safety alerts, and other real-time intelligence products. Collaboration: Work closely with patrol, detectives, specialized units, and partner agencies to support investigations and tactical operations with analytical products and intelligence leads. Investigative Support: Assist in identifying suspects, vehicles, or patterns in ongoing investigations using available data sources and analytic methods. Training and Development: Stay current with emerging technologies, analytic techniques, and best practices in real-time crime analysis and intelligence operations. Associates degree or higher in a related field Four (4) years related work experience. Knowledge of law enforcement operations, crime analysis principles, and investigative processes. Proficiency in using in Microsoft Excel, Access, Power Point, Word, CAD systems, GIS mapping, ALPR, and various data analysis tools. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple information sources simultaneously and make sound judgments under pressure. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written, along with creating and delivering presentations to both the agency and the public. Collect, analyze and interpret criminal intelligence data using modern crime analysis techniques for the purpose of highlighting trends and forecasting hotspot locations for crime and criminal activity. Prepare maps and charts such as link analysis, time flow, commodity flow, telephone toll, and other computerized charts to clarify and organize information for further investigation and/or determine strategic solutions to reduce crime.
