We would love for you to become a member of our team The Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of an urgent care provider. Responsibilities include managing the check‑in and registration process, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), recording information on patient charts, drawing and collecting blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory analysis, and preparing treatment rooms for patient examinations. Hourly rate: $17.50–$26.00Bonus: up to $600/month Job Requirements Education High School Diploma requiredGraduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred Work Experience Medical Assistant experience preferredFront Desk experience preferred Required Licenses / Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).One of the following certifications required at the time of hire:CCMA—Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)CMA—Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)RMA—Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)NCMA—National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)NRCMA—Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NADPH) In lieu of an approved MA Certification, we will also accept the following certifications at the time of hire: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or LPN or RNEMT—Emergency Medical Technician (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)CNA—Certified Nursing Assistant Essential Functions Conduct patient registration, including securing required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verifying insurance and patient eligibility.Process co‑pays and schedule patient appointments for the assigned center.Coordinate provider referrals to assigned specialists.Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status.Inform technical staff of patient flow.Prepare patients for examination, including conducting interviews to verify patient information and record medical history.Perform preliminary physical tests (vital signs) and escalates critical cases to the provider as needed.Conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide results to the provider.Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have necessary medical supplies.Maintain supply inventory levels by completing order sheets and checking expiration dates.Maintain medical records and scan charts into patient files.Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence.Ensure reception is well maintained.Conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up.Perform opening and closing duties, including cashing out, end‑of‑day communication, and securing the building.Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed.All other duties as assigned. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Basic Medical Assistant duties.Ability to type quickly; basic computer knowledge.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Detail oriented, able to rely on experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks; participates in a team and accomplishes goals.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Able to interact and treat all persons with fairness, respect and sensitivity to cultural/social differences.
