Shift Information Two 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. shifts and two 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. shifts. Sign‑On Bonus: Up to $5,000. Job Purpose Independently performs laboratory procedures for which the technologist has been trained and demonstrated competency. Performs laboratory testing on patients of all ages using professional knowledge of laboratory procedures, executes, interprets, and analyzes results accurately and in a timely manner. Responsibilities Responsibilities include independent performance of procedures, testing, and result interpretation as described in the job purpose. Qualifications Minimum Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent plus sufficient college/technical courses and clinical training to satisfy the requirements for testing and certification as a medical technologist by an approved certifying agency. Minimum Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology, or a life/biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.). Minimum Experience Required: None beyond the education/training requirement. Licensure/Certification Required by Law: Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by ASCP, AMT, or AAB according to Georgia Department standards. Recent movers may be temporarily classified for 18 months to complete a qualifying examination. AAB provisional certification not accepted. Additional Preferred Qualifications: One year of supervised clinical experience as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist. Competence in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood bank, and microbiology.
