The Inventory Supervisor will support our onsite vendor managed inventory program in Northern Illinois. This role oversees the onsite inventory replenishment and stocking models based on approved schedule and targets set within our customer agreements by managing and leading our team of Inventory Control Associates. This role also validates the accuracy of product transferred between facilities, researches and resolves discrepancies, monitors adjustments in the warehouse management system, and conducts analysis to forecast potential inventory issues.

Responsibilities:

You will

  • Lead a team of 4 to 5 Inventory Control Associates
  • Initiate customer invoicing and facilitate billing
  • Maintain positive customer relationship in partnership with sales team
  • Set cycle counts of inventory, researches and clears any discrepancies
  • Plan layout of storerooms, customer closets, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored
  • Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies
  • Supervise employees through staff development, assigning duties and examining work to ensure compliance of the organizations policies, procedures and applicable laws; manage labor hours and payroll in electronic timekeeping system
  • Serve as primary backup to onsite staff to cover time off and short staffing
  • Recommend process improvements within the warehouse or distribution center which will improve accuracy of inventory and/or productivity
  • Work well cross-functionally with all departments
Qualifications:

You have:

  • 3+ years of direct inventory control experience, ideally in distribution operations
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with warehouse management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • High school diploma or GED (general education diploma)
  • Position requires the ability to lift 40lbs and requires frequent bending, reaching, and stretching.
