Job Summary
The RN-Nursing Excellence Coordinator acts as a resource and liaison to assess and facilitate organization readiness for Magnet or Pathway to Excellence (PTE) recognition programs. They gather Sources of Evidence (SOE)/Elements of Performance (EOP), write/edit narrative for the SOEs/EOPs, and prepare the document for submission. All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity, and teamwork.Accountabilities
*Obtains and maintains expertise of the nursing recognition program standards (Magnet/Pathway to Excellence).
-Seek out experts across system to learn, question, and validate understanding of the standards.
-Stays abreast of changing requirements
-Join the Magnet/PTE collaborative consortium and actively participate. - 10%
*Ongoing monitoring of required quality and patient experience metrics
-Performs gap analysis and self-assessment, as indicated.
-Collaborate with CNO, directors, managers, Campus Council, and unit level structures to support goal alignment for achieving and exceeding nursing recognition standards.- 10%
*Provide oversite for the completion of the nursing recognition program document for the campus
-Collect stories on an ongoing based to showcase the standards. Ensure stories represent all the service lines and units in the document.
-Develop a timeline for successful completion of the document (accurate, complete, on time). Completes and submits initial and intracycle monitoring requirements within required timeframe
-Work with content experts for the stories, validate stories with evidence, and facilitate story finalization.
-Writes, reviews, and edits documents for adherence/alignment with American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Recognition program standards.
-Be a conduit to the internal and/or external consultant for sharing stories, getting feedback to the content experts in the story. - 35%
*Organizes and leads Magnet/PTE champions
-Attend Magnet/PTE champion meeting.
-Engage the champions in ongoing Magnet/PTE culture and work alignment. - 5%
*Develop ongoing communication tools and processes to educate, coach, and engage team members and interprofessional partners on Magnet/PTE readiness and nursing excellence at the campus level. - 10%
*Support shared governance at the campus and unit level
-Mentor campus council chairs, in partnership with the campus nursing leadership team, to set and align goals, work, outcomes.
-Participate in the triad for campus council meetings to assist in setting the agenda.
-Offer feedback, coaching, and mentoring to unit-based structure or council (UBC) chairs.
-Support alignment of the UBC work with quality outcomes, professional practice advancements
-Participate in shared governance meetings as a subject matter expert and advisor - 20%
*Collect and support the Nursing Annual Report content for the campus. Ensure campus-specific content on Connect and external hospital webpages is updated annually. - 5%
*Develops survey/site visit plan of activities
-Develop information materials related to the survey/site visit
-Conduct mock survey, analyze results/observations, and present recommendations for successful survey. - 5%
Minimum Requirements
BSN- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
3 years related nursing experience including Magnet or Pathway to Excellence, Nursing Shared Governance, Education or Research
Magnet/Pathway to Excellence experience preferred
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Licensed to practice as an RN in South Carolina
