Summary
This position provides direct service to young adults in our Transitional Housing Program. Duties are varied and include tasks from transporting clients, to assisting in case related activities such as case management and assessment to determine the needs for services and support. Responsibilities include attending child, family, and team meetings, service planning, and documentation, report writing, testifying in court, and provision of services with a team approach.
Qualified Applicants for a Social Worker for Transitional Housing Program
Candidates with a master’s degree are preferred. Prospective candidates will need to have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in any of the following areas:
(A) Marriage, family, and child counseling.
(B) Child psychology.
(C) Child development.
(D) Counseling psychology.
(E) Social psychology.
(F) Clinical psychology.
(G) Educational psychology.
(H) Education, with an emphasis on counseling.
(I) Social work or social welfare.
OR
A minimum of a baccalaureate degree in an area not specified and a minimum of two years' experience in a public or private child welfare social services setting or specific experience working with transition-age youth. Primary responsibilities:
* This position requires driving throughout Shasta, Tehama, and Butte counties
* Conduct assessment; develop an Appraisal, Needs, and Services Plan for each young adult.
* Provide case management, advocacy, and linkage to services.
* Have professional writing skills to provide file documentation and write reports.
* Provide emergency response and be part of an on-call rotation. The successful candidate will work with young adults in the Transitional Housing Program. Children First has one of the largest and fastest-growing THP programs in the North state, serving and placing clients from all over the state Shasta, Tehama, and Butte area. As a THP Social Worker, you will be a part of a dynamic team to help young adults successfully transition from foster care to a productive, independent life.
