Job Overview UPMC Altoona Regional Health Services is hiring a Full‑Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to support the Altoona Walk‑in Clinic. Hours: Monday–Friday and 1 Saturday every month. Location: 1414 9th Ave, Altoona, PA 16602. Position Specifics: Injections, ear irrigation, suturing, EMR documentation, basic family medicine practice. Staff Role The Staff Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner who sets standards for quality care. The APP provides patient care under physician supervision, collaborates with the team, and gradually takes on increasing responsibility, demonstrating leadership and community commitment. Responsibilities Apply basic professional practice knowledge and skills appropriate for the setting; communicate effectively verbally and in documentation. Formulate patient care plans that consider individual needs; seek opportunities to improve clinical practice. Build relationships with patients, families, and colleagues; identify and address ethical situations. Gradually increase patient load and complexity with appropriate guidance. Engage in clinical development; seek learning opportunities and performance feedback. Identify patient and family education needs and provide basic education. Participate in professional organization membership and regular literature review. Apply knowledge of research and evidence‑based practice; identify improvement opportunities in the clinical area. Licensure, Education, Certifications, and Clearances Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) Completion of an approved nurse practitioner program. BSN or MSN preferred. Professional nursing and/or nurse practitioner experience preferred. Current state RN license and CRNP certification required. National certification; eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure and CRNP certification. Current CPR certification required. Act 34 clearance required. Physician Assistant (PA) Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program (ARC‑PA). BS or MS preferred. Experience as PA or in a clinical setting preferred.
